Inquiry By Design is in the process of expanding from a regional to national presence and is ready to hire a key leadership team member in our first-ever Director of Marketing position.

About This Position

We are looking for someone who will be a visionary leader instrumental in advancing our mission to deliver engaging, authentic learning experiences to students nationwide. This remote position requires a seasoned expert in K-12 marketing who can strategize and shape our brand strategy, foster customer engagement, and drive revenue growth by developing and executing comprehensive marketing campaigns. With a deep understanding of the education sector, this individual will work closely with the CEO and cross-functional teams to position our brand as a market leader, collaborate on thought leadership content, and expand our digital presence. This role demands a balance of high-level strategy and hands-on execution, including performance tracking, social media management, and event planning.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Brand Management:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies in partnership with the CEO that align with the company’s mission and business objectives, focusing on K-12 educators, school administrators, and district leaders.
  • Oversee brand positioning and messaging, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels and materials to enhance brand recognition and reputation.
  • Lead IBD’s brand strategy to solidify our position as a market leader for English and Spanish Language Arts. 

Campaign and Content Development

  • Thought Leadership: Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to develop and promote thought leadership content that communicates IBD’s expertise and impact to key audiences. 
  • District Partnership Development: Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to create marketing materials that support new product launches and ongoing sales efforts.
  • Content Creation: Develop and manage content production for newsletters, social media, email, and our website to ensure impactful, consistent messaging across channels. 
  • Email Marketing: Manage and optimize email campaigns, including newsletters and audience engagement follow-up, to maintain a strong connection with our community. 
  • Collateral Management: Maintain and update website content and forms to support lead capture and engagement. 
  • Social Media: Lead the strategy and execution of social media content to increase engagement, expand our online community, and elevate IBD’s digital presence. 

Performance Analysis

  • Track and analyze marketing performance across all channels, including SEO, ROI, lead generation, and conversion metrics. Adjust strategies based on insights to maximize effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with IBD’s Sales team to build a lead generation strategy, leveraging HubSpot to track marketing leads and conversions. Ensure marketing efforts are optimized for alignment with sales goals.

Digital Marketing: Lead a holistic suite of digital marketing initiatives, including social media, email campaigns, and SEO/SEM strategies to drive traffic and engagement on the company’s website and digital platforms.

Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape, using insights to inform marketing strategies and product development.

Event Management: Plan and execute marketing events, conferences, and webinars to promote IBD and engage with educators and stakeholders in the K-12 space. Ability to travel up to 10% (26 days) of the year. 

Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize ROI on marketing initiatives.

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience rebranding and then launching a Literacy curriculum in the secondary market.
  • Within the K-12 market, 7+ years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role where you helped form and execute on the vision.
  • Within the K-12 market, proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive engagement and sales.
  • Strong understanding of K-12 education systems, how public school districts adopt new curriculum, and the unique challenges faced by educators.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for storytelling and engaging diverse audiences across channels.
  • Experience in tracking, analyzing, and adjusting marketing performance to maximize impact; familiarity with HubSpot is a huge plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including SEO strategies, and utilizing marketing automation software.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • An innate ability to be a creator, a desire to be part of building something new with a growing and demanding company. 
  • Prior experience on a small team, being both a visionary and individual contributor. 

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary range $80,000 – $90,000 depending on experience
    May be an opportunity for an annual bonus if company meets revenue goals and employee meets or exceeds job expectations
